Please join our team in offering our congratulations to Sorogi, CEO, Dr. Vivian Nnacho Ayuk, PharmD, CDCES on her selection to the DC Health Public Health Integrated Advisory Committee(PHIAC).
The Public Health Integrated Advisory Committee (PHIAC) is a multi-sector, interdisciplinary body that merges two processes: DC Healthy People 2020/2030, the District’s community health improvement plan, along with the Preventive Health and Health Services (PHHS) Block Grant planning and implementation. DC Healthy People 2030 is a comprehensive set of key disease prevention and health promotion objectives.
The health objectives and targets allow communities to assess their health status and build an agenda for community health improvement.
PHHS allows US states, tribes, districts, and territories to address their own unique public health needs and challenges with innovative and community-driven methods.
The PHIAC goals include:
- Leveraging current population health data and continuous community engagement to understand community health needs, emerging issues, and relevant priorities.
- Improving population health through informed recommendations based on advisory committee expertise, data, and community input.
