NUTRITION AND HEALTHY EATING
Eating a healthy diet plays a significant role in managing and preventing a laundry list of chronic illnesses. A healthy diet for people with Diabetes will include foods and beverages that facilitate a normal blood sugar level. Some foods that lower blood sugar include salmon and other fatty fish, leafy greens, and nuts and seeds. However, diet can be very culturally rooted and passed down from generation to generation. Therefore, Sorogi prioritises understanding the cultural significance of diet to our participants and helping them implement better habits for lasting change.
Participants work with our Licensed Registered Dietitian to understand the different components of healthy eating and together create a comprehensive meal plan tailored to meet their needs.
Receiving nutrition education and support should be one of the first steps to chronic disease management. Obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic illness, and certain cancers can all be affected by diet and nutrition.
Diet is a risk factor that is easy to modify and has a significant impact. Most of us know that eating healthy is something we should do, but we often lack the support to adopt lasting changes.
Many challenges and opportunities to prevent and manage chronic health conditions lie ahead, and Sorogi is dedicated to being there every step of the way.
We understand the value of patience, persistence, and real-life responses to challenges involved with health and nutrition.
Sorogi walks alongside you to address your specific concerns, ensuring you learn to eat healthy without giving up the foods you love!
